Does the Mason County Health Department support abortion?

The Mason County Health Department offers options counseling. We do not provide abortion services or fund abortion services in any way.

Do I need to bring my parent to get birth control?

No. Clients under the age of 18 are able to sign their own consents in the Family Planning Program.

Are Family Planning services confidential?

Yes. A client’s information cannot be given to anyone without signed consent by the client.

Do you have a physician on staff?

Yes. Physicians travel from Peoria to staff our family planning and prenatal clinics on Wednesday afternoons. By appointment only.

Can I get a sonogram at MCHD if I am pregnant?

You can only receive prenatal care at our site if you are an established patient.

If I receive prenatal care through the health department can I choose where I want to go to deliver?

No. Prenatal care is provided by Unity Point Methodist physicians. All patients must deliver in Peoria, IL at Methodist.

Can I get a physical at your office?

No. We do not offer physicals. Please call your primary care provider to schedule a physical.

Can I walk in and get immunizations?
