Yes. Immunization appointments are generally scheduled on Tuesdays. During flu and COVID-19 vaccination seasons, flu and COVID-19 vaccines are also available without an appointment on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 7–11 a.m. and 1–3 p.m.
Can I get a physical at MCHD?
MCHD does not provide physical exams. For school or sports physicals, please contact your primary care provider. MCHD does provide back-to-school immunizations.
Does MCHD have a physician on staff?
A physician is available at MCHD on Wednesday afternoons for Family Planning and Prenatal Care services by appointment only.
Where can I receive prenatal care and deliver my baby?
Routine prenatal visits are provided at MCHD. Deliveries are planned at Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
Can I get a sonogram at MCHD?
Sonograms are available for patients receiving prenatal care through MCHD.
Do I need a parent or guardian to receive birth control?
No. In Illinois, youth age 12 and older can receive confidential family planning services, birth control, and reproductive health care without parental permission or notification.
Are Family Planning services confidential?
Yes, a client’s information cannot be given to anyone without signed consent by the client.
Does the Mason County Health Department provide abortion services?
The Mason County Health Department provides options counseling but does not provide or fund abortion services.
